Nature: Our Common Home SEMINAR ON “LAUDATO SI” (The Encyclical Letter Of Pope Francis) AND THE CONFERRING OF THE 17 TH “THE SPIRIT OF ASSISI NATIONAL AWARD”

Principal Aim

The main aim of the FCPD is to help people to become instruments of peace and harmony, to build up charity, rendering one another the service of communion, healing divisions and work for the reconciliation of humanity with God, with all people and with all creation in the spirit of Francis of Assisi “known and revered by many throughout the world as a symbol of peace, reconciliation and brotherhood” (John Paul II).


The Spirit of Assisi National Award

The FCPD has instituted this award incollaboration with the International Franciscan Centre for Dialogue in Assisi (CEFID) in 1995.

The purpose of the award is to give public recognition and encouragement to any person or institution in India who is contributing to any one of the following
areas: peace, justice, safeguarding of creation, ecumenism, interreligious dialogue and the promotion and defense of human life.

The person or institution chosen for the award will be given a Memento, Citation, An amount of Fifty Thousand Rupees.

Since its institution the award has been conferred to 16 people.

All religions Peace Festival
( Sarva Matha Shanthi Ghosh )


It is an inter-district level arts competition conducted every year for the school students. The purpose of this festival is to uphold and promote the values of peace, justice, preservation of creation and religious harmony among the new generation.

The competition is conducted on the basis of the above mentioned themes on the following events: Group Song, Light Music, Essay Writing (Mala. & Eng.), Elocution (Mala. & Eng.) and Pencil Drawing.

The winners are awarded with trophy, cash prize and certificate. More than 30 schools participate in this festival every year.
